Event and Activities


Raise your voice! Become Animaga 2016’s Anime Idol by singing your favourite Anime or Japanese songs.


Lights, Camera, Action! A Ball-Joint Doll (BJD) photo booth will be open for those who wish to show off their masterpieces or even compete in the BJD Photography competition (No flash photography allowed).


Stand up and Draw! Trading Card game (TCG) players can test their skills in one of our various card game tournaments.


Express yourself, whether it be in our Cosplay competition or even just too casually enjoy Animaga dressed as one of your favourite characters of all time.

You can also try having a crack at origami and various types of papercraft. Origami workshop will be held during the event. Brought to you by Japan Club Victoria (JCV).

“Time for a Lover’s Embrace, Gundam! (Graham Aker)” Whether you are an expert Gunpla model builder or a beginner, the Gunpla workshop welcomes all levels of enthusiasts.


Ever wanted to learn more about Japanese Lolita fashion? At Animaga’s Lolita exhibit, you can learn everything about Lolita and Japanese Urban Fashion designs, as well as be in the running for Best Dressed Lolita.


Unleash your inner artist! Take part in our drawing competition or just casually let your imagination take flight when putting pen to paper.

Arriving by Bus

Bus No. 472 (Williamstown to Moonee Ponds) stops along Langs Road.

Bus No. 404 (Footscray to Moonee Ponds) stops on the corner of Epsom and Ascot Vale Roads.

Arriving by Tram

Route 57 tram (West Maribyrnong to Elizabeth Street, City), stops at stop 32
